Deflection and poisen: how do they work?

Postby deneb3525 » Mon Jan 18, 2010 10:25 am

There were some happenings during the GnomeRoad game that left me with a few questions:

Poisen:
1)If someone evades your poisened blade is the poisen expended? Or can you continue to attack?
2)If you are hit with a poisened attack, do you need to resist only once? or every 30 seconds?

Deflection:
1)what happens when a ranged attack hits a melee weapon without deflection? does it matter what the attack is? (magic, projectile, thrown weapon, ect?)
2)does deflection make a person immune to ranged disarm atempts?
"Yup, you could be dead and not know it. we have to make sure in case it gets worse"

I'm not as familiar with the new poison rules but I'll answer the deflection ones.

1. Ranged attacks that hit a weapon are "transfered" to the arm holding the weapon. Consider it a hit to the arm.
2. Pretty much, yes. Deflection needs to be intentional though. Meaning, you must know the attack is coming in order to deflect it. So if they don't see it coming, they shouldn't be calling deflection.
