Let's Go WrldCon

Greetings,

So I found out the creator of Apocalarp hasn't run a game in 18 months.  The only game he is running is at WrldCon.  So I figure the next one we'll all just have to go look to.

That way, everyone will be on the same page.  That way we'll all share the experience together.  Also, I can be an NPC during that event and gain experience.  It will help me learn how to run events.

It will take alot of fundraising to raise enough money to pay for us all to go.  But I'm sure if we all pitch in, and help out that we will be able to do it.  Of course it will be alot of work.  But nothing of value has been done that wasn't.

sincerely,

steve

Let's all go to Mesa

Greetings,

I haven't updated this blog in a while so I thought I should write an entry.  I was invited to come to the games in Mesa.  So I thought why not bring everyone with me.  That way everyone will experience apocalarp for themselves.

Then the person running apocolarp will get a bunch of players for his game.  So it will be a win/win situation.  He'll get more players, and we'll start out right.

However, this will require us to raise the money for it first of all.  This will require some hard work.  But like I've said before you've got to do the work before you can have your fun.

We'll need a treasurer to handle the money.  As I'm really not a details kind of person.  Also it's a good idea to have a seperate person handle the money, then be head of the organization.

sincerely,

steve

For those of you who have been watching my blog you probably have noticed the blog explosion banner.  You may be wondering, "What is this for?"  Well blog explosion is a blog traffic agitator.  It's part of my plan to get the word out about the Live Effects chapter.

I also have some other things planned offline as well.  But I'm focusing right now on the online things since it's kind of cold right now.  Also I'm hoping to get some interest from some people.

Greetings, I wanted to create a list of Nerf Guns that were recommended for Larp Play as I didn't want anyone purchasing one and not being able to use it. But unfortunately, or fortunately as you make look at it someone I know was good enough to create one already. So without further to do here it is: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-7840-LA-LARP-Examiner~y2009m12d30-Nerf-guns-in-LARP

Greetings,

First off, I would like to thank my friend Bruce Burford.  For giving me the idea of starting an liveeffects chapter.  If it had not been for his support and encouragement I wouldn't be in the position now of starting an chapter.

Secondly,  we will be using the Apocalarp rule set for the campaign.  We will be making changes as the game progresses.  We will be making changes as we see fit.  Eventually, I plan to have our own ruleset.  I want to make a "deeper" roleplaying system if you know what I mean.

Thirdly, our first campaign will be short.  After the first campaign players will make new characters for the next campaign.  So as we make changes people players can create new characters.

Greetings,

We will currently bweapons) and nerf combat.  It will be in a apocalytic setting where combat can break out anytime.

Also, I will try to incorporate learning into the game whether possible.  However, I will try to keep the players goals and wishes in mind.  So it will be interesting.

I'm planning on starting out on having days sessions.  The cost will atleast be ten dollars a player plus your own equipment and costume.  It will cost atleast ten dollars per person per event for live effects.

sincerely,

steve

P.S. "We" are planning to run the events in the Reedsburg "Area".  I'm hoping to get a permit to run them in the cities parks.  Of course it will have to warm up first for this to come to fruition.

The way it is..........

"You know it wasn't always this way."  said the old timer leaned
against the log by the fire.

"Used to be everyone had a car, well almost everyone, almost everyone
over eighteen that is.  Most people didn't walk ver far.  Soda drinks
were common you went down to the store and bought it.  None of this
fuss to, it was common.

"No things weren't like they used to be." said the old timer with disguist.

"Almost everybody used to have a job.  None of this foraging around
all the time.  You just went to the store and bought it.  Then it was
yours no haggling about it."

"So what happened?" you ask curious.

"Well the war" said the old-timer, " it changed everything. It happend
so fast." said the old timer with a softer tone.

"First came the cyber attack," he said " we were blinded.  we had
grown so reliant to the internet we didn't know how to operate with
out it.  People lost power to their homes.  there were food shortages.
There were riots.  But the worse was yet to come....."

"Then the second wave came."  said the old timer.
"We had made alot of enemies, they must have figured that we were weak and they were right.    Though, it took us months to get organized.  Even then we didn't put up much of a resistance." saying the old timer seeming to be ashamed.

"At one time we had the most powerful military power on the globe and here we were being invaded by a bunch of third world nations."

"Finally we drove them of but at a terrible price.  We took heavy casualties and alot of damage to us.  But the worse of it is they used a new weapon, a weapon that turned people into zombies.  It spread quickly.  Now we had to fight ourselves."

"As if we didn't hyave enought to worry about we started having reports of reptilians and werewolves fighting each other and leaving massive damage in their wake.  They had come from the center of the eaqrth.  They had been watching us for a long time."
